Building approvals

Other potential problems that can arise are in relation to building approvals for work undertaken. All building construction must be approved. When approval from local councils is not sought the cost of remedying can be considerable.

Some measure of protection can be gained by ensuring that the vendor states in the contract that all building structures are approved and if there is doubt as to their truthfulness, enquiries can be made to the local council and/or requests made to the vendor to provide copies of the building-approval notice(s).
