Buyer’s Best Friend with Home Scouts

Jun 2025Karen Millers

Did you know that when buying property you don’t have to go it alone? Rebecca Jamieson Dwyer chats to Bronwen Stacey of Home Scouts – a long-term Noosa local who’s in your corner when it comes to securing your dream home or investment property.

How can engaging a buyer’s agent help give potential buyers an edge in a competitive market?

Buyers agents are often first to hear about properties before they’re publicly listed, and we know how to position our clients strongly when it comes time to present an offer and negotiate.

Whether it’s reading the subtle signals from an agent or crafting terms that appeal to the seller, our job is to give buyers clarity, confidence and a genuine edge.

What types of clients do you help, and what unique skills and experience do you bring to the role?

I work with a wide range of clients, most of whom aren’t local – from busy professionals and families relocating to the Coast to investors looking for the right long-term growth opportunities.

I also work with clients who want to find their perfect coastal holiday apartment.

I bring over 15 years of experience in the broader property industry, qualifications in property investment advice, and accreditations with the Real Estate Buyers Agents Association of Australia.

Being a local for over a decade and having a family who have owned property and lived here for over 40 years, I understand not just the data, but the lived experience of each neighbourhood.

What are some unique aspects of the Noosa property market that buyers – particularly from interstate or overseas – should be aware of?

Noosa is a lifestyle market, not just a property market. That means values can behave differently here than in capital cities – scarcity, streetscape, walkability, and even micro-markets can affect prices significantly.

Also, what seems like a dream home online can be very different in reality – things like orientation, topography, zoning, and even noise levels and neighbours all need to be considered.

What are some key scenarios where a buyer’s agent can be invaluable?

We’re especially valuable when buyers are interstate or overseas, are time-poor, or we’re navigating a complex brief.

We also step in when emotions start to take over, bringing a calm, strategic lens.

Whether it’s finding opportunities beyond those existing on the market, steering a property through due diligence, or negotiating under pressure, our value is in saving time, money and stress.

How do you maintain relationships with local real estate agents and why is this important?

Strong relationships with local agents are so important – they help keep us informed, connected and a step ahead.

I treat every agent interaction with professionalism and respect, and they know I bring well-prepared, qualified buyers to the table.

This mutual trust means we’re often invited into conversations early, which can make all the difference in a tight market.

Congratulations on being a finalist in three major categories of the prestigious national PIPA (Property Investment Professionals of Australia) Awards! Why is professional accreditation and recognition important to you?

Being recognised by PIPA is incredibly meaningful – it’s a national association, and the awards are judged by the most experienced property investment professionals across Australia.

As a small, locally based business, I’m proud that the standards I hold myself to, and the results I deliver for clients, have been recognised on this level.

Professional accreditation means I’m committed to transparency, ethics, and continual learning – qualities that matter when you’re helping people make one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

What are your core values, both in business and in life?

Integrity, transparency and empathy.

I believe in doing what’s right and acting only in my client’s best interests.

I also value clarity – helping people make smart, informed decisions without pressure. And fundamentally, I believe in listening.

Every buyer’s story is unique, and it’s my job to really understand what matters to each client – not just in a house, but in a home and a lifestyle or the bigger picture behind the purchase.

Your favourite restaurant in Noosa?

Rickys is always a favourite – it has a beautiful ambience, a menu that never misses and fabulous cocktails.

What’s your ultimate way to spend a Sunday afternoon?

A swim or surf at Little Cove with my husband and two daughters, followed by dinner somewhere along Hastings Street with family and friends, and a good glass of red!

What do you love most about being a buyer’s agent?

It’s genuinely rewarding to help people land on the Sunshine Coast and feel at home.

I love being able to take the stress out of buying, especially for those navigating big life changes – relocations, growing families or planning for retirement.

Knowing I’ve helped someone make a smart move, both emotionally and financially, is the best part of what I do.
