Regulation Progress to date:
March 08 - Representatives from PIPA meet with Senator Nick Sherry to assert the need for regulation for Property Investment Advisers.
3 June 2008 - Senator Nick Sherry releases Green Paper for Financial Services and Credit reform

July 2008 - PIPA submits response to Green Paper
July 2008 - Senator Sherry grants interview with Margaret Lomas for MoneyMakers (Skynews) in which he commits to including Property Investment Advisers in any reform
September 2008 - Representatives from PIPA meet with Nick Sherry to discuss the importance of including Property Investment Advisers in reform and point out that current provisions fell way short of the mark
November 2008 - Representatives from PIPA granted a meeting with Treasury where a comprehensive report about the industry and its stakeholders is presented. Treasury agree that the industry may be deeper and in need of more comprehensive regulation than first thought
Feb 2009 - Representatives from PIPA take part in a teleconference with the Consumer Protection Branch and the Investor Protection Branch to once again reiterate the importance of including Property Investment Advisers in regulation
March 2009 - Federal government releases its plan for single, national regulation for consumer credit. This does not include Property Investment Adviser regulation.
